As is customary, Aston-Newtown Community SDA Church members opened up their building on 25th December for a festive lunch, welcoming the homeless and less fortunate from the local area as well as members and friends who may face spending the festive season alone.
For this years’ event members were able to reach out to the homeless in collaboration with the Birmingham Food Drive, a grassroots initiative by the local community, which took place on 21stDecember aiming to provide food and clothing to those who need it. Through these efforts ten guests joined church members and friends for lunch on Christmas day.
Christmas carols and worships songs were sung before guests were treated to a three-course meal and given gifts of food, body care, clothing and items of literature to take away with them.
Our guests left with smiles on their faces as truly they had experienced the type of warmth, joy and love that comes from knowing Christ.
